I’m Sherri an obsessively tidy, adventure seeking, compulsive storytelling Christian who loves to blog. Did I mention that I’ve been happily married for 25 years & the proud mama of a 20 something daughter & a fur baby? I’ve also discovered That I am obsessed with homesteading & all it entails raising animals, cooking, preserving, gardening, all of it! And that, y’all, is frustrating.
“Why?”, you ask…
Well, at this junction of my life we’re traveling like gypsies (We renovate hotels around the world about 300 days a year.), our grown daughter is almost finished with college, & the world is wide open to me.
For this I am blessed & for this I am excited, yet I still find myself longing for the HomeSteading Dream.
I know we all have our own ideas of what our “Dream Life” should be. However, we seem to find ourselves living a life much different, than the one we’re dreaming of.
Why is that? Why do we live contrary to our dreams? Dissatisfied or maybe just complacent, taking what life has to offer & just going with it. Why?…
I used to ask myself this every single day.
Then…One day, on a sign, in a Christian bookstore, I read:
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away
In a moment this simple quote redefined the way I look at everything in my life. My happiness, my relationships, my spirituality…Everything!
The funny thing is, it also made me think about getting old. How would I look back on my life. Would my moments take my breath away? Would I smile at my trials, triumphs, & mishaps?
Well, not if I didn’t have any.
Not that I want to have trials & mishaps. Of course not, or at least not in the sense of a lost job, failed health, or some catastrophe. However, what if I tried something new & it didn’t work out? Then, what if I tried it in another way & it did?
Suddenly…Complacency was no longer acceptable. Suddenly…Life didn’t have to be a series of events that just happened. Suddenly…I had a passion.
That’s why I’m so excited to welcome y’all here to Three23! This is a blog about finding your adventure, defining your passion, & creating a LifeStyle you love.
My hope is that no matter how close or far away from your “Dream Life” you are, you can come here for; inspiration, encouragement, & the tools you need to take the life you have now & make it take your breath away.
I invite y’all to join me on my adventures, misadventures, & experiments. They will take us across America, around the world, & hopefully to a cute little farmhouse nestled in the mountains, with a garden & chickens (this has been my “Dream Life” for nearly 23 years). Along the way turning our life of complacency into a LifeStyle of joy.
Again, welcome to my passion.
